Ullekalvs Giocondo - Joe

 Jag blev förvånad när jag kom till stallet idag. Bunny hade rymt från sin inhängda (vilken var väldigt provisorisk då Mira fått den riktiga fölningsboxen).  Bunny hade fått sin son utan att få larmet att ringa mig, trolgien för att hon fölade i en slänt och därmed inte fick larmet i tillräcklig vinkel för att det skulle ringa upp mig. Fölet stod upp och såg väldigt stark och stabil ut. Han är silversvart, eller chocolate som färgen kallas inom rasen. Kanske även konstantskimmel, men det har jag inte hunnit kolla tillräckligt ännu.

Han kommer att få heta Giocondo eftersom jag planerade ett namn med anknytning till riddarspelen. Först och främst för att jag räknade med att fölningen skulle bli mycket närmare spelen. Eftersom han kom att lura mig så många gånger, till och med genom att larmet inte ringde upp så tyckte jag att ett anmn som "Narr" eller "Gycklare" vore på sin plats. Nu råkade manne höra det och föreslog den italeinska varainten: Giocondo och så fick det bli. Till vardags får det bli "Joe". (Giocondo uttals med ett hårt J i början: "DJakondo" typ). Dessutom tycker jag hans öron påminner om en gycklarhatt...

I got a surprise when I got to the stable today - Bunny had escaped her enclosure (that wasn't very stable because the real foaling stall was occupied by Mira...). Bunny have had her son and probably the alarm didn't get of at she gave birth at a hill, making the alarm not tilting enough...

Still, the colt was on his feet, feeling very secure and in good shape. He is a chocolate - or silver black and possibly roan as well.

He is going to get the name Giocondo as is planned to use a Medieval name, something fitting with the jousting games held recently. Especially as I thought that he should have been born much closer to the tournament. But as he tricked us so much I came to think that something like "jester" would suit this foal well. As he then managed to even fool us with his birth I find that to be the perfect name. As I told my husband he got me the Italian translation instead of the Swedish version that I first thought about. And I liked the Italian better so Giocondo it is. For short that is going to be Joe! (And his ears looks a little like the hat jesters usually have...)
